It's an egg!

We have been enjoying watching the bluebirds every day. He's been terribly macho. We watched him chase off the wren that normally nests in a tiny box just off of the patio. We are wondering if he has managed to chase off the sparrows that normally nest in a box very near the one the bluebirds have claimed. There hasn't been much activity there.

Yesterday, as we were eating breakfast, so were they. While Eric and I sat on the patio eating oatmeal, she sat nearby on some cut firewood. He was perching himself on various lines (the clothes line, the feeder line) and examining the ground for bugs. He'd pounce on one, then find her and feed it to her. Today, they have their first egg!
