This morning, we had a tremendous amount of bird activity in the backyard. We watched the parents and babies of a red-winged blackbird family on our TV antenna. The bluebird parents were in the back, often with bugs in their mouths. We saw the female chase off a grackle. Normally, we don't see things like that. When we went outside, we got scolded by the bluebirds. When we did our nest check, we learned why. No one was in the nest; the babies were all out. We think some of them were up around the house and some behind the lilac bushes. The parents were being all sketchy and secretive about where they were going and were upset that we were there. So, we went off and left them alone. Hopefully, we will see the little guys flying soon!

They will have to migrate in the fall. I hope they all make it!
